EVALUATOR: Principal
EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: Minimum one hundred ninety (190) days; salary is negotiated at the local

school level.

1.00 CATHOLIC SCHOOL TEACHER PHILOSOPHY
  • The Catholic school teacher forms the whole child, spiritually, intellectually, socially, morally,
and physically in a Christ-centered environment.
1.01 The teacher encourages and supports students to achieve maximum potential in spiritual
and academic growth.
A. Develops in the students a knowledge of Catholic doctrine/tradition.
B. Provides service ministry opportunities.
C. Guides students in the preparation of Liturgies and paraliturgies.
D. Provides students the opportunity to participate in Catholic practices (Rosary, Stations of
the Cross, Novenas, and May Crowning).
  • E. Expresses love, concern and compassion for each child and recognizes each child is made

in the image of God.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree, valid state certification or the equivalent, as specified by the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops’ Education Department and the Diocese of Corpus Christi
  • Non-Catholic teachers are required to have a knowledge of the Catholic faith and support the goals of Catholic tradition in education
  • Valid Texas driver's license required
  • Submit to employment required screenings including criminal background check, drug screening
  • Certified in Safe Environment training
  • Requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures
